Glensallagh
A haven of peace and tranquillity

Finding Glensallagh

From Cork head round the South Ring and take the N71 to Bandon and West Cork. (Don't be tempted by the Bandon relief road, it isn't !). In Bandon turn right at the Methodist Church and head for Enniskean\Ballineen, Dunmanway\Drimoleague. About 9 miles after Drimoleague turn left for Skibbereen and Ballydehob, on a major bend, resist any temptation to take any previous Skibbereen turn offs. Head up and over a big forested ridge, gasp at the view and about a mile down the other side you'll see a bunch of signs to the right including Brushfire Pottery, Ceramicx Ireland and Gortnagrough Folk Museum. Take this right turn and then take the second right also signposted Gortnagrough Museum and the entrance to Glensallagh is about 300 metres up on the left, almost opposite an old mobile home. There's a silver US mail box in the fuschia and the drive plunges down off the borin (lane) down a sort of bosky tunnel.

Time from Cork about 1 hr 15 mins.
